Crazy Awesome Picture! Very interesting spechies these were, with the Andrewsarcus believed to be the largest mammal land predator ever. I disagree on how some scientists think that it was a scavenger and not a true hunter, reminds me of how back in the early 2000's a lot of scientists were claiming that the T-Rex was not a predator. To have such a massive bite-force and only use it to feed on decaying corpses is like only using a high grade lazer-scapel to tear tissue paper.

I agree with you there, Larka! Let me tell you one thing about Andrew... He's a VERY active hunter! (Is he, though? He loafs all day! XD) He goes after the big and healthy Brontotherium that graze on the planes.

Hold on a tick...Brontotherium and Andrewsarchus are from different continents. 0_0

Not on Prehistoric Island!

TehGamr probably used the brontothere as an example prey species because it was featured with the Andrewsarchus on "Walking With Prehistoric Beasts".

It was, Larka! Two Andrewsarchus were going after a dead baby Brontitherium, who's mother was very protective over.

Actually Taojat is actually correct, the spechies Brontotherium (megacerops) has so far only been found in North America (at this time no even being anywhere near Asia). The BBC took a LOT of creative liberties when making the show, mostly to make it more appealing. The only reason Andrewsarchus was included was to tie-in with the theme of whale evolution (like how they had Ambulocetus "the-walking-whale" in the middle of the jungle).
