I've always had a feeling that the writers origonally intended to put Katarra and Zuko together .... I don't know ... maybe not .... Or maybe they felt sorry for Ang.

That's what I think too. Well in the "Extras" in the 2nd episode, it had even said "Zuko was originally going to be Katara's love interest"
And I swear I thought they were gonna kiss at this moment. But they didn't ;-;
Then BAM out of nowhere she ends up with Aang. asdfghjkl
