I had so much fun drawing this, I'll make her a part of my Fossil Team! Her name is Josephine, or Joey for short. Still need a name for her pup...kit...joey...whatever you call a baby Thylacoleo.
Anyhoo, this quirky marsupials' name means, "pouched lion", though it has no relation to cats. It was a carnivore with retractable claws, a thumblike fifth front toe, and massive, almost rodent-like teeth.
Requested by Larka. I'll draw more fossils soon. #Fossil #Marsupial
The Colors! Gallery moderators will look at it as soon as possible.

(continued desc.) I drew Joey in a tree branch, though I have no clue whether Thylacos prefer the tree view or not. However, its a legitimate theory, considering the thumblike toe and the fact that it lived in the range of other large Australian predators, like terrestrial crocadiles, thusly needing a place to hide away from them. Also, a random thought; I think it'd be awesome if someone drew up some Thylacoleos in the style of 'The Lion King'. Oh my gosh...THE POUCHED LION KING!!! SOMEBODY START DRAWING THAT!!!

Crazy awesome picture, the details and 3D are great. "Pouched Lion King" XD! I can just imagine it, someone drawing out the entire cast of Lion King and replacing them with a prehistoric Australian spechies. In fact, this gives me an interesting idea.
