Helicoprion: Spiral-Tooth Shark by Larka

A request pic for Taojat, an anchient shark that lived during the Permian era. Over the years there have been countless concepts on what this prehistoric shark looked like. Here are just several of the most recent concepts, some of the earliest models involved the shark having spiral jaws on it's tail or head instead of in it's mouth. #shark #sharks #sharkweek #sharkweek2013 #ocean #animals #sea #predator #prehistoric

Permian? Oh, foo, last time I checked, it was Carboniferous. Both, perhaps? Anyways, thanks again for taking my requests. Just a quick word of advice, according to my research, the Helicoprion didn't have teeth on its upper jaw. Then again, it was Wikipedia, so anything's on the table.

Very cool! Their more recent idea for it is your top pic but not quite a pointy nose and flip back fin on tail the other way. Again looks cool! ^_^
