The Manga and Anime start the same, then lead in different directions. It's an amazing Allegory filled story, with beautiful art.

Mad Hatter: Yes. Love of many kinds. The anime starts getting pretty dark by the Black Rose Arc, all the way to the end. Anyway, There's love between Utena and the girl she's vowed to protect (Wether it's Romantic or Platonic/Sisterly is up to the viewer), and other 'love' amung the other duelests. As a warning, there's a bit of ped0phillic seduction (though I mentally refuse to accept Utena of being 14, so, it's just creepy seduction), implications of [forced] incest, and a couple other things I can't remember at the moment. There's also some yuri with a duelest and another character, but that story is done rather tastefully, so even I (who dislikes yuri) enjoyed it.
Just, the movie, it's an abomonation that makes no sense. At all. Unless your high. So, stay far, far, faarrrrrr away from it.

lol Utena's a lady. She wants to be a Prince. Being noble, like her Prince, Dios, told her as a child. She protects a girl named Anthy, and unknowingly becomes 'engaged' to her after defending Anthy from her Abusive 'Fiancee'. From there, Utena's goal is to protect Anthy, and find her Prince.

Whats Angel Beats about o3o ... i have heard about it but & seen some fotos but not seen it :P

It's a beautiful anime that'll pull at your heart, make you laugh, and get eyegasms from the animation and fight scenes. And, the music is Ah-maze-ing.

It's about... well, about a Boy named Otinashi, and he dies, and goes to a purgatory that's a school campus. There, he meets other's, who are also dead, and trying to rebel against god since their lives were 'unfair'. That's really all I can say without spoilers. Just, I promise you you will love it. It's great. Beautiful.

Fruits Basket does have a short intro xD But, ya gotta remember the time(year) that anime came out. I liked it tbh. It fit quite nicely -w- not over the top; short, sweet, and to the point.

HOTD is freaking awesome. Takashi is cool. I have to say, I like him alot, even though I've never been one to like the Gary-Stu main progatonist of Anime/Manga harems. Kohta is my favorite dude, though, and I love Saeko and Saya equally. I. Hate. Rei. lol

Anywho, teh differences between the two was purely just out creative idea. You see, Utena was brought on by a idea-well, a fairy tail the creator had in mind. That was the base. Then, Ikuhara, brought his group, Be-Papas, to work on it. They split in half, one for a manga, one for a anime. So both Anime and Manga was made simulatinously. They start out the same, and end the same. But, everything in between different. Especially the romances, and Dios/Lucifer End of The World ending.
I personally liked the manga better, but I love the Anime just as much.

I realized, that in the Manga, Miki and Touga are sooo much more likeable. Miki's sister, Kaoru, annoyed me to no end in the manga, but her Anime version I found alot more interesting.

For the anime, there's 3 arcs.

1) The Student Council Saga
2) The Black Rose Saga
3) The End of the World Saga

The anime will be pretty similar during the first arc. After that, you wont reconize it. Akio will also make his first apperance during the secone arc; around that time, thing'll get pretty dark... and sad... ene I love that arc lol
Anyway, just as a warning for ya, all the ships in the manga are thrown out the window :U Like, srsly. Miki likes Anthy, Juri's not crushing over Touga, Touga's... something... Saionji's the same at least xD
