Adam uses it to gain powers over darkness, and to wreak nightmareish mayhem upon his foes.

The Crystal Pendants are created by crystals that harness great power, and they give the wearer which ever powers they hold.

There are four crystal pendants, each with their own powers:
The Orb of Nightmares, (darness)
The Snow Sphere, (Ice)
The Lightning Globe, (Electricity)
and The Inferno Ball. (Fire)
Adam has the Orb of Nightmares, but the other three are scattered around the globe.
