I think they might, just look at Smash Bros. no story mode or that many 3rd party characters to be planned.

From what I´ve heard, a story mode was neither denied nor confirmed so far and that this news was a translation error on Kotaku´s side; only pre-rendered cutscenes are known to be scrapped. :P

I hope you're right. From what I heard, he wants to get rid of tne story mode because everyone can view it online just like brawl's story mode.
I loved the story mode on brawl, even though it's not the best, I still had a lot of fun watching the characters interact, Lucario meeting Snake, Samus saving Pikachu, Ness and Donkey Kong scenes sacrificing themself epicly. I flippin loved seeing that.

Now with Megaman, KiIIer Villager, and Wii Fit Trainer, I seriously want to see how they all got into the epic smash fight.

If this game does get public voice chat, it'll be hilarious around me, cuz I'll always race as Mario while cussing others out in his accent XD I have a really good Mario voice

I´d suspect it to be friends only, but a public voice chat would be IMO both the best and worst thing to ever happen to the series.
Just think about how freaking mad everyone will get 8D

I think Nintendo would do something to keep it family friendly though.
Like putting age restrictions on it or something...

Yeah, that´s why he wants to get rid of in-game cutscenes.
I wouldn´t be suprised if a story mode made it into the game but I wouldn´t be suprised either if it was very different from Brawl´s SE mode. They don´t seem to put the same focus on it as they did in Brawl.
I´d like to see them putting in some linear levels in addition to the main game but dropping SE`s "storyline" is no great loss to me personally..

Agreed, If MK8 does support Voice Chat then everyone can talk through FL people. Btw, they should put the Voice Chat setting because if someone in the online match is annoying, you can mute them. I don't have a Wii U but probably I'm getting the console in Xmas? : )

Nothing new really, V/C or not I doubt it'll change anything, you'll have your kids andadults playing it, personally I could care less with or without it. But I cant wait to play it.
As for smash, if I remember correctly prerendered cutscenes will be only for specific characters, which is pointless, those who want to spoil/leak info will do so easily.

Hahaha this so chaotic and awesome! I also think an (optional, obviously) online chat would give Mario Kart a much needed new flavor... Although, yeah, I'm pretty sure Nintendo will leave it out for age restriction's sake. Here's to wishing, anyway! :) (At least you can merge two karts together and transform into a friggin' shell-shooting tank in the new arcade edition :D)

MK8 Shouldn't have Voice-Chat 'Cuz CoD/Modern Warfare are like mk8 w/ vc. Kids can get TROLLED.
