I really have the complete same opinion. the most people that have alicorns as an o.c. just feel special and fame, but they aren´t because there are thousands of this people! I don´t want to say that all of this ppl with an alicorn o.c. are like this, but what is the special thing on ponys with wings and horn, if everypony looks like this!

I´m maybe criticize (spelled the right way..?) myself cause I am planning to make an alicorn o.c., but it´s for a special story and I don´t feel like something awesome and famous only because of this. I hope there are still other bronys out there who feel the same.

Yeah, Alicorn OC's make me iffy too, but we shouldn't bash on them too much. Anyways, from a story-writing standpoint, a regular pony will be able to have more conflict. Though I love Whoever's Alicorn OC, 'cause he can't really do anything.

I couldn't agree more. Alicorns are the Mary Sues of pony OC's.

Plush is only an earth pony because it fit my personality best. I'm pretty average, if I say so myself...

But yeah, alicorns should only be alicorns if their job needs flight AND magic. Celestia and Luna need to be alicorns, since they raise the sun and moon (i personally believe they fly while raising it) But that statement makes Twi and Cadence's reason to be alicorns gone, so yeah.

I have nothing else to say, but if we're on the topic of alicorns, did you know that the word itself just means unicorn (the magical properties of the horn, to be exact), and only til' now people made it mean winged unicorn?

well yes they are many on this topic and then many just make them with no story to go along with them. (well speaking from having a Alicorn OC but represented by a Earth Pony) and like me mine she does have a story and i am working on turning it how she changed from a Unicorn to a Alicorn and how much she is a weak flyer and only ever good for healing magic but weak over all but many don't give back story to them and they become mary sue oc's

I created my oc awhile ago, so thats really the only reason he's an alicorn. Ive been thinking about changing it, because I know alot of people feel this way about alicorns. But I'm just not sure. Honestly, I dont mind alicorn Ocs. As long as they arent super powerful, or royalty. (both of which mine is not. I just need some feed back about his race.)

Well, I can totally agree. Why do you think every time Ringo turns into an alicorn princess, I give him looks like he doesn't want to be one.
Also, don't alicorns live for thousands of years? Yeah, so all regular ponies get to die faster in their eyes.
