When Bulbasaurtwo, Charmandertwo, Squirtletwo and Ambertwo "die", young Mewtwo is at first confused, then sad and finally furious. The sedative used to calm him was so strong that all he remembers of his friends is Ambertwo's last words, "You're alive, and life is wonderful..."
