How did you get to the point where you don't do a head-shape base before drawing the details? Any tips on drawing the head like that?

To Lupin: You have no idea how much I actually draw. :') I've drawn thousands and thousands of heads, hands, and bodies already, so at this point in time I really just draw this stuff by muscle memory. (I do struggle with feet, still. >.<) My tip would just be draw a whole lot! I think undersketches (for me, anyway) are really just a waste of time and limit what you can do on a canvas. There's just so much more freedom if you skip the ultra-stiff undersketch and improvise as you go along.But just keep practicing! It does get easier! ^.^

I totally admire how you effortlessly draw such beautiful stuff, it's even inspiring :) I can't hope to reach your level someday, but it does make me want to get a little better!
