Calm down, it doesn't matter. The English language is very varied, even within Britain.
I live in Norfolk, and because of that I speak in a local dialect. You can still understand what they are saying so there is nothing wrong with it.

I was going to say that it is because we mess everything up.
Also, America has a bunch of different races, and the accents and ways to sound certain syllables have been mixed as well, causing us to pronounce sruff differently.
I think it's similar to Mexio and Spain having the same root of Spanish, but really varied...

Soccer.....or.....Football in other countries u dont just use ur feet, u use ur entire body (except ur hands) so football is an understatement.....so i guess we changed the name, to soccer because......we...... sock the ball.....with our body....? then we created another sport where u tackle each other and score touchdowns and called it football

I wasnt starting anything on anyones gallery, I just stated on that follower persons gallery that what they were doing was defeating the purpose of the gallery. Then Mirdawg childishly retaliated and started ranting at me. So I explained to him my point. Apparently though he saw something he didnt like and deleted it, like a child, so missed the point so has no right to be anywhere near as foul as he is being to me.

This place would be so much better if people showed maturity.

^calm down, let's all just take a deep breathe here, dont worry Mirdawg, he just wants to know why it's different in America, i think what he's trying to say is that (i learned this in school) the United States has it's own form of measure, for example 3ft in a yard, 12in in a ft, they're just.....numbers......not based on anything, not 1O based, or anything like that, they're just numbers, whereas every other Country is 1O based, well it's the same with Football and Soccer, in America, we call it soccer, but in EVERY other country it's called football, because u kick the ball with ur foot, but he wants to know why is the same sport called something else only in America, why is it called soccer?

K_W we SAY aloominum but it's not spelled that way, it's spelled the way it's spelled over there, so that's actually the same, we just have an accent, that i just recently found out about, to male us say "aloominum" but when we write the word it's spelled correctly, like it is over there on the left, just letting u know that, before soneone comes at u about it ^u^

Blame Marketing for "sorcerer's stone"- but football got changed into soccer because when it was brought over originally -with the thousands of poor immegrants, lord knows how long ago- no one had a real ball and had to play with balls of folded socks. In some poorer regions of south america, "soccer" is still played with socks because offical balls are too expensive of a luxury to own.
