This my entrance for Jestersoup's contest. And sorry, I know I probably butchered your monkey, Jestersoup. And no, I didn't trace, it would look so much better if I were to have traced it. All I used the reference for was so I wouldn't have to leave the painting to look at it. Wow, I spent an hour on the painting (That's a while for me!), but looks awful compared to my paper/pencil drawings. :/ (This painting is best viewed in 3D.)
