D; Im so sorry... I know how that is, and its really sad. my calico cat named Tica died at 6 years old in an accedent. But about 6 months later we went to colorado to fix up this old house my great grandmother used to own. (now my grandmother owns it.) We knew there were a lot of cats that lived in the alley so we really wanted to get one of the wild kittens that lived there, but it would be hard to keep a kitten because of the traviling we had to do then. A day before we were going to leave, we saw a gray tabby striped mother cat with a siamese patterned kitten and a black kitten. The black one looked weaker than the other one. Suddenly, the mother cat turned around and...

hissed at the black one and left it by itself. (Sometimes, when a wild cat has a weaker kitten, she will get rid of it because more milk and food will go to the stronger ones, not to the ones that might not make it.) The black kitten saw my brother in the alley and ran under a fence that was leaning against another fence to hide. since my mom was wearing gloves, she decided to pick her up. we tried to feed her, but she was so hungry she wouldnt eat. We accually had to force feed her kitten formula! We decided to keep her, and around this week she turns a year old. She is a VERY beautiful cat now and if we didn't save her she would have died. If there are feral cats where you live maybe soon you could try and rescue another kitten. There could be a kitten out there or at least soon to be born that would have a much better life with someone like you then starving in an alley... I hope stuff gets better for you soon.
