An orange and cream cat stared out at a wide field. The sun was high, the sky bright. A young girl pranced among the flowers, enjoying the wholeness of the scenery. The cat smiled as she twirled her paw in the air, instantly summoning a few glittering butterflies made of light. She whispered in an odd language and they took to the wind, steadily approaching the girl. Almost as soon as the butterflies reached the girl, they turned black and crumbled into ash. The cat's emerald eyes widened in fear. This wasn't a nightmare's work! /A black dream! No! Not here!/ She leapt from her perch and ran as fast as she could to the girl. The sky was already turning black! She skidded next to the girl and spoke to her. "Wake up! Wake up! Lest you wish to be stuck forever!" The girl watched the cat talk. "W-What?" The light orange cat sighed, she hated to do this, but the girl mustn't be trapped! She unsheathed her claws and hopped onto the girl's head. She carved the rune symbol for waking into the girls forehead, despite the girl's best efforts to escape the Dreamwalker's grasp. The girl faded beneath her, and she fell wit a plop to the ground. The dream was almost gone. She had to escape!

Heartache ruffled her feathers, watching the landscape around herself succumb to darkness. Her eyes fell upon the sky, and her pupils dilated at the sight of it. "Okay, Achey...wake up~" The peculiar robin-sized bird closed her eyes, smiled, then reopened them. Nothing changed. Everything was still terrifying. Her head whipped around rapidly, watching the changing area. "No...no...no...Im certainly in hell...no!" She cried, spreading her wings and giving them a rigid flap, propelling herself high into the air. "I'll free myself! I will!" Every beat of her wings brought her higher and higher until she grew tired, and plummeted, spreading her wings at the last moment to lightly float back to the ground. "Is there any warm-hearted soul out there? Hear my pleas...I need guidance..." Heartache merely sat down, and fluffed up her feathers to make herself more comfortably. Either a gentle being would find her, or she would be dam.nned further into the depths of hell.

The black around the dreamwalker was widening fast, but she could see a path. She launched herself onto a quickly disappearing patch of grass, and another and another. Soon enough, she was out of the dream. Her heart was pounding hard; there was a huge chance she could have fallen into the abyss of black. Suddenly she heard a soft voice calling from another dream. She followed it until she was peering down at a pink and black bird. "Hello? My name is Dreamlight! I heard you calling..."

"Dream...light...?" Heartache softly cooed, looking up to the pastel-colored cat that stood above her. Heartache perked up, then took a step back. "G-Greetings...Dreamlight. I am Heartache...but call me what you please. Might you be...a creature of the dream world...?" Heartache inquired, feeling a bit calmer now in the presence of the feline. Her feathers relaxed and slicked themselves against her small body.

"That I am, Heartache. You can just call me Dream." Dream surveyed the darkness surrounding the bird. /Hmmm... maybe she can flutter up to me if I reach out...?/ Dream leaned as far as she could, which was only about two feet. "Do you think you can try t-" Dream felt herself slipping, and was soon tumbling down into the darkness. She huffed as she hit the ground. "That didn't exactly work..." Dream turned to Heartache when the darkness gave way, and they both fell to a dark lagoon-like place. Nightshade plants and black lilies lined a path surrounding the black water. "This place is odd..."

Heartache quickly fluttered up and made herself comfortable in between Dream's shoulder blades. "I-I'll just stay here...if that's alright," she chirpped quietly. She shifte uncomfortably in her feathers, and her talons gripped tightly to the cat's skin, but careful not to harm her. "W-What's going on, D-Dream...? Why...why can't I wake up...?" The small avian whispered, shuddering with each word.

"The reason you are stuck.. is because of black dreams. No one yet knows who is responsible; but if I find whatever it is, I'll shred it!" She flexed her claws threateningly before walking down the path. Heartache continued to grip her a little tighter the farther they got. This place was very uncomfortable... but she knew her magic wouldn't do anything to brighten the place. Black dreams couldn't be touched.

Heartache continued to tense up. "D-Dream...has this ever happened before...?" she asked nervously. Heartache was unaware dreams could be overrun by something so...dark. She knew nightmares were a thing...but not everlasting darkness that could not be escaped. This bizarre world of doom and gloom. Usually Heartache was into this kind of thing, but she felt oddly unnerved, and she could even sense the uneasiness of the cat carrying her.

Sight...it was the first thing that alerted Lucid to the fact that he was dreaming. And what a beautiful sight indeed. It was nighttime and it appeared that Lucid was atop a small cliff with some clear water dripping down to form a small pool below. Lucid smiled. This was beautiful... Little orange flowers with black in the middle began to bloom, it was truly a gorgeous sight. The white wolf leaned down to sniff one when suddenly the black portion began to envelope the entirety of the flower. Lucid leaped back in surprise as the flowers around him formed in a black fog like substance. With a yelp he began to run away from the black substance, fear quickening his pace. Upon looking over his shoulder he realized the calm pool and cliff had disappeared and had been replaced by the horrible smoke. "Help!" Lucid howled, as it began to catch up.

Lucid looked around panicked, "JUMP!" A voice shouted, Lucid ran toward the cliff where a nine tailed Jackel was standing. Lucid narrowed his eyes and then leaped down stiffling a howl of fear.

This died so quickly...
