I feel like an idiot at the moment. I always had problem, trying to pick new Electric-type for my team in Pt and I never, repeat NEVER, though of Magnezone! Always Jolteon or Luxray, but now I used Rotom. Of course I could also have picked Electivire or Raichu (or something that I don't remember), but I wasn't so interested. -_-'
And now I'm sorry, but I will bring EVs up. That Magnezone, might be on the same level, but it isn't far as strong as members you had for longer time (because they have gained EVs and wild Pokemon doesn't have single one and Rare Candies don't give a single one either). In D/P/Pt Champion, Cynthia, is freaking strong (must be one of the strongest champions of all time, and my favourite). You need to battle a LOT with that Magnezone, so that it will be on the same "level" as others (I have a Braviary on Lv. 63 that I caught on Lv. 25 and it hasn't maxed out its EVs yet, so fast leveling up won't give many EVs) Of course, you can feed it lot of Vitamins to gain EVs. ;)
OK then, think EVs this way: More you battle, stronger your Pokemon grows (that's why they are called EVs=Effort Points). Pokemon that you have raised is always stronger than wild one on a same level (well, not always, but that's extremely rare!) EV-training is just that you focus on training your Pokemons specific stat: HP, Def, Speed, etc. ;) (I just reached Champions in PWT and my team was no match for Steven. I lost 4-0... I have to do completely new team.) -_-'
