*He always had at least three knives tucked into his belt

Left:
A total of 5, going up his ear. The bottommost one matches the one on the right ear (the dagger) and the rest are studs. The top one is at the top of the curved part of the ear.
Oh, and he's got an eybrow piercing, too (furthest right on the right eyebrow)
