What I mean by "slowly going insane" is.. well, I'm used to thinking in animations. Not used to having only one page to express everything. Let me put it this way.. maybe you could draw the rat in his insane form, and put flashes of memories in lil' thought clouds or boxes or somethin' around the edges. Not very creative at all, sorry. -^- Go ahead and use your idea, if you think it's better.

it would look even nicer if you used a thicker paintbrush (the solid one) to make straight, smooth lines and then sharpen them. Zoom in to work on parts of it, that will really help. I like how you used brown for the outline, and not black.

My two cats are probably dead... Mustard and Mayonaise... I'll always remember them. Mayonaise was mean to me anyway. But...I was dumb when I was 9 before, and accedentily treated them badly...I also had a 3rd pet. Ketchup the black lab. They were all best friends, they even sleeped together... They were a trio. I accedentily treated Ketchup badly too...Ugh what was I thinking?!...It just wasn't meant to be...that's why they all ran away and the cats probably died by now... But now Ketchup is in a gang with some other dogs. And they're presently rivals with my current dog, Slippers. Tis a sad story to hear... That gang of dogs pee on our trees and attack Slippers... I try to defend him & myself, but I don't have a weapon (except my claws). So now I keep a wooden dagger made by my dad. Ketchup and the other dogs now belong to a (crazy) lady who plays drums at day AND night. It's terrible, but could be worse. I can put up with it, but my poor mom can't sleep! Poor momma...<:C
