"Follow people so they can see your gallery"?
That's actually annoying, because why would someone want a follower who only did it because they want attention?
And I hope you don't agree with the whole "If I follow you, you HAVE to follow me" thing, becayse doing that makes both of those follows seem fake.
My advice for being popular is...
Well, you really don't want to be popular in the end. I know a lot of people want that attention, bur it can be really stressful...
My advice is to go at your own pace and learn to love your art without needing the comments of others.

I'm not saying, that you just follow people to get them to see your gallery. You follow if you like thier paintings. It does work though. If you follow a normal, not so popular person, they will get exited and follow you. Commenting works too. They might check out you gallery if you kind of the only one who commented. If you makemone of a kind paintings, and put them in many " #"; catigories, they will see your hopefully good art work and go to you gallery expecting more. And no. You don't really need to be popular to teach to be popular.

Also, no. I do not agree with I follow you and you have to follow me. I'm not trying to send a bad message. It's kind of like "I licked the trash can so you have to, do it or your not my freind."
