That was an aspect I wasn't sure, either bribe (I guess it wouldn't be John? Maybe Jade back to normal?) or that he's being controlled, or! Since Calliborn is in control, he could be trying to override the 'true' Dave [being controlled, i guess hahaaha].
But just a reminder: we've sort of always been in control of homestuck. we can see/be whoever. We know where everyone is. And then: the panel that says 'John Egbert is missing'. it really shows that everything is out of control, and for once it's not a cliffhanger, we just DON'T know! And everyone has amnesia. EXCEPT! Dave keeps contradicting himself in the panel where you chose which planet for dialog. Dave doesn't drop g's of 'ing's, another suspi.cious act. then he asks kanaya if he's being a goof.
