Raiko doesn't like people. They're scary.
Seriously though, the poor guy is so afraid of strangers he often has trouble making eye contact and speaking, and sometimes he'll even flat out run away from people who try to interact with him.
There's more to his real personality, of course, but I'll talk about that some other time.

I might as well mention it here...
Raiko actually plays electric guitar (and sometimes bass) for a ragtag band of him and his friends; Ilona La, Luica Cei, and Ayjis Fenn. I believe they met while at orphanaschool [working name] and pretty much just stayed friends even after their amount were confirmed. Due to lucky circumstances (read: Ayjis being a computer whiz) they all live in the same city.
Anyway, those three are some of the few people Raiko isn't super shy around, and is actually secretly outgoing. The volume of his voice usually corresponds to how excited he is, and he has a really loud laugh too.

I think Ayjis might have rigged the teleporter when Ilona was about to get "sent away", hah
and in the short period when they weren't able to see each other daily, they might have kept their contact through IM? hmm
and it's okay raiko, i dunno how to make eye contact with a person either. >_>
