So, here's the deal. Recently, Rick Snyder, the governor of Michigan, listed Eastern Gray Wolves as a game species (after getting off the protected list January, 2012). There are less than seven hundred gray wolves in Michigan. Now, Congress wants to create a WOLF HUNTING SEASON in Northern Michigan, even when a petition to stop the hunt got a quarter-million signatures.
I really dislike the government now.
Rick's Scr3wed.

Oh I know!!!! I was on my way to school when I heard that in the news. Another kid said that was a great idea. I almost beat that kid......Wolves are one of my favorite animals, and people don't understand how good they are. Intelligent, too: they have a complex social structure. And, they never attack humans, unless that human is threatening the pack directly or if they are extremely injured/unconcious and the wolves are starving. What few attacks happen are immortalized in history so everyone believes they are evil.....enough rant, I suppose.....

They wouldn't have put the wolf on the game list if they didn't believe that its population could be destabilized or devastated by hunting... Also hunters need to follow strict rules to ensure that they don't hurt the animal population they are hunting.

Also hunting sometimes needs to happen when a population of an animal species outnumbers the population(s) of its prey species. If that goes on too long, then the prey population will go "extinct" in that area and the predator population won't have any food and they'll end up dying out.

I'm no wolf but my buddy is! TIME TO BUT SOME HEADS!? >:D XxStraps on minigun vestxX Now... Who wants to overthrow the government?

@monkfish: Nature has a way of controling predator populations. A survey in 2011 estimated there were about six hundred eighty-seven wolves in Michigan. The next year, the survey estimated only about six-hundred forty. The wolf population is starting to level out to a comfy level, and now humans will scr3w it up again.
