This pic kind of failed. Any tips I could use? I have never drawn mario before... Btw the blue smuge is supposed to be Sonic in case you were confused

Draw him more. I would put things in pipes in the layer below the pipes, not the one above. Another improvent would be removing the blue smear from the top layer. Other than that, this is a very good Mario picture. You have a great shading style.
