I know. This doesn't even begin to do justice to the gesture of the pose or her likeness. You've got real skills. I assume you're self taught like me. I've taken some life drawing classes in school but, not a lot formal training. Don't get discouraged in art school if your art is better than your instructors like I did. Press on and do your best. :)
i just like to do art as a hobby--i take art classes as electives :) i have taken oil painting, design, computer art, printmaking. in painting class we did a lot of still life, and i have yet to try it out on the ds, so all of my life drawing has been done on canvas.
my boyfriend is the one majoring in art--he gives me tips when i need them :) he's on this website-dandan. i find that you being self-taught is amazing because your life drawings are so well done!
Thank you very much. I still have a lot to learn. Do you have a website or blog? If so, I'd like to see it. Your bf's work is pretty good, too. I assume you're both in college learning art. Maybe you should make this hobby into a paying career to pay some of the bills. You've got the talent just contact people who are doing this stuff professionally and ask them some questions. Doesn't hurt to look into it, right? :) I've been drawing for most of my life. I have a knack for it, I guess. So do you. Let's go make some money. Check out the this post on the forum: http://forum.brombra.net/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=86 The green lady painting was initially painted from imagination and later I found some photo reference to use for the lighting. I had to edit the image because the original will show more cleavage than the one depicted in the forum and since the age range for artists who use this site ranges anywhere from maybe six to sixty I wanted to show only a family friendly version. Not that the original will be risque mind you just not for younger viewers. I almost forgot. Are there any business classes at the school you're attending? If so, you may want to take some business classes.
no i don't have a website, this is it. we're both in college, bf's majoring in art, i'm just doing liberals for now and taking art as electives. perhaps if i get better, i'll pick up oil painting again and just sell some paintings for side money. but i feel that my art is more of a skill im trying at rather than natural ability lol, so i'm not sure about making it a career. that picture you posted in the forum is very nice, are you going to post it on colors? -- and yes there are business classes, i've taken a couple. :)
I think you should get a Deviantart page if not a professional website. That way you can post your work there and get feedback from a whole lot of pro artists. Believe it or not, it's only been recently that my confidence in my art has gotten better. I've got the talent but, until very recently I didn't have the drive or the determination to create art. I tell you what. I'll post that painting in this gallery just for you after the original gets finished. I really do think you should pursue a career in art even if it's a side job. Who knows? You might like it and decide to go full time with it. Are you registered in the forum under jennyeatworld? If so, send me a note sometime. I'm not on it everyday, but I do check it from time to time. My handle on there is same as here. Inque.
