Um I'm not completely sure but usually you do the other's oc while the other draws your oc
You can take your time but have to explain to the other person why you took so long.

I'm pretty sure that you draw a pic of someone's oc and they draw a pic of one of yours. It last until both of have drawn your pics, I think. You could probably do more than one painting, but I'm pretty sure most people do only one painting. I'm not sure though, I'm not very familar with art trades xD
