Today, we recieved the message. The one that essentially shuts down the Wii's online features. This comes shortly after the news that Hatena was being shut down on the DSi. I understand that there might be a reason other than capitalism, but it's a shame to see these systems abandoned in what seems like an attempt to increase Wii U and 3DS sales. I wish I could do more than doodle, but there's not much we can do. #stopshutdown

the 3ds has absolutely NOTHING to do with the flipnote hatena shut down. now this wii shut down i havent even heard of but i dont even use my wii.

Alright KLooB, I'll admit that that's a fair point about Hatena. The Wii thing shows up on the message board, but it sounds like you won't be overly affected anyway. Lucky ^^

eh... I never go online with my wii. I only use it for animal crossing city folk, to help me cope with waiting for AC new leaf. but i cant get it on the 9th like everyone else NOOOO that would be too easy! i have to wait until my b-day, june 29th. um sorry for my rant XD

I'm not sure about the multiplayer... I hope not! I love visiting towns in Animal Crossing: City Folk! And Sunset Featherstorm, same here on the coping thing >u<

EXCEPT THEY HAVE TO. Would you rather Nintendo go bankrupt from having to focus on too many things to make any of them any good (game development, the Wii's online services, the Wii U's online services, the DS' online services, hardware development, AND the 3DS's online services - which of those would YOU shut down?) AND Hatena to go bankrupt from the insanely costly Flipnote Hatena? Seriously, the amount of servers something like that would need and you should be amazed you weren't paying a monthly fee back then! Servers are expensive. This whole thing pi.sses me off quite a lot because you haven't learned a very important thing: You can't always get what you want. Nintendo has valid reasons to be doing this, and they needed to save some money, so they cut something unnessecary out of their plan, in the Wii Channels. It was NOT Nintendo's decision to close Flipnote Hatena, it was Hatena's. (HATENA IS A SEPERATE COMPANY FROM NINTENDO)
