I'm okay with it.
The glowan race originally evolved on another planet, where there were also other races, so I guess it would fit!
I suppose the smoldians would be the fiends' and glowans' common ancestor??
Or maybe there was something before all three of them! Something that had a tail, perhaps (both fiends and glowans still have them, smoldians must have lost them at some point), and that both glowed and produced heat somehow.

I think one common ancestor for the three of them would make the most sense. Smoldians may seem like a combination of fiends and glowans when it come to the fire/light stuff, but they have four ears and no tails unlike the other two.

Or maybe there could be a step in between; smoldians, then a race with just one pair of ears and a newly developed tail, and then from there it splits off into fiends and glowans.

maybe idk i was at school so i dont have any ideas atm but i like the common ancesstor thing and the mid species thing
