I notice a lot of people don't really like or understand their family, but I'm not afraid to say I love my parents. Also, thank you for your comment, but I actually learned drawing by trying things out, like playing with brush types and sizes, transparencies, etc. I didn't follow some plan to magically become good, but just kept at it. I mean, look at the number of hours I spend on each of my paintings (you can see how long art took by clicking on the comments and looking below the description). Some people just draw for a few minutes and it looks great. Those are the natural artists. You might be more like me, and need to take a lot of time with your art. Sorry if that's not helpful enough, but I'll see what else I can come up with. Also, I'll be starting a contest soon that I think you should enter because it's all about motivation.
