Yes, TP is really awesome. :)
The purple blob is a chu, you hit those in Lanayru Province, and the cute white thinh is a mini freezard. You find those pretty much exclusively inside Snowpeak Mansion. (5th dungeon)

Well, I'm only at the Wolf Link part and hasn't turned back human yet, so I wouldn't know. My family has a Wii, and I have been begging my parents to get TP since release to no avail, and I even asked for SS for Xmas in 2011, again, to no avail. And my friend got around to buying himself a Wii and got TP, and I cried! (no really, but still.)
