Hiragana by lalalavigne

The Japanese Hiragana Alphabet! >u<
Fun things:
1: 'Fu' is pronounce like 'Hu' or "Who"
2: 'Wi' & 'We' aren't used anymore. So, there are only Forty-Six Kana (Characters) now.
3: R's in the Japanese language are pronounced with a tongue roll, like Spanish & other various languages.
4: 'Hi' looks like Santa trying to hug you XD

I've been learning for about 8-9 months, trying to speak it first. I want to learn & study these kana so I can write down what I say, because I don't want to use Romaji anymore xD I'm still learning though, so it's been a fun experience so far!

I don't like Rosetta Stone for Japanese, it's all formal. I don't want to say "Hello, my name is Jeff" I want to say "Hey, name's Jeff" Lol. It's good at first, but then it just gets really confusing. Rosetta Stone is good for formal, not informal! ^p^

Well, for starters, i don't really know how to write Hiragana (Hence why It took 2 hours to draw this xD) I literally took glances at a picture on google images that looked like this xD I use this picture to help translate words from life to paper, like, Konnichiwa! I know how to write it in Hiragana when I look at this painting, & then i start studying the word for days until it gets permanetly stuck in my mind.

I went to "Japanesepod101.com" & became a free member. It's really good for beginners!

I can remember about (off the top of my mind) 70-80 words.
Hajimemashi.te! (nice to meet you!)
Watashi wa Jeff desu. (I am Jeff.)
Genki desu ka? (How are you?)
Genki desu. (I'm fine.)

Yeah, i don't know anyone else who's REALLY learning, i mean, i have friends who know a couple words but aren't interested in learning anything else. So it is nice to talk ro someone who is learning! ^u^ What was that program you were using on the Ds? Is it good?

Your explanation of how japanese Rs are pronounced is wrong it is a tap which makes it sound like your saying an l and an r at the same time, not a trill like spanish.
