We are playing on a system that is full of young people who feel that the more electronic friends they have the more popular they are. I have 3 friends on my 3DS and they are people I know personally. I don't need to codify my self with a fluffed up friends list. Good job on the painting, it sums up what most of us are thinking.

I know some people that didn't trace anything and yet they got lots of likes.

Besides, I don't draw for likes, I draw for fun and to expand my imagination.

Oh and you forgot one category... The people who leave negative comments on other artists paintings when those same commentors have the artistic talent of a sleeping 2 year old.

That and I'm part of the "None of this was traced" category and draw better on paper than here. And I don't want to exchange friend codes. Sooooo yeah. . .

So true...I only traced one of my pics, but that was just so I could experiment with coloring. I do my best, think it looks awesome, upload it, and get beaten by people with traced images...but then no one seems to like my stuff anyway, even if I think it's better than some of the more liked stuff...

That's also why I don't "like" obviously traced stuff. Some traces I consider okay because the coloring is so detailed, and you can't get that from tracing.

You should see one of that Munin's online. People left'n right are complaining about how he stole the picture that's from the extras menu. The one who's the exact same guy. And it's impossible to trace the picture, because it's too detailed to be traced.

Wow. You summed it up pretty well. I'm urked by this too, mainly because I'm a college art student looking to get a bit of recognition. Sure I have my friend code in my gallery, but it was posted so I could talk to mature individuals who love art as much as I do. Not just to have a large amount of friends. The people who trace urk me too. We get it, tracing can be hard, but where's the originality? Where is YOUR talent in that image when all you're doing is mimicing someone else's hard work? Irritation explained allllll in one art post. Bravo

It p!sses me off! I spent * weeks on my latest painting and have only recieved seventeen likes for it. But today i saw a $hitty spongebob painting that looked like it took five seconds to trace, and he had fortyfive likes! It had no depth, tone, or a good background, but nooooo, lets all like it because it's spongeb*tch! >:(

So true, but that's what will obviously take place in a setting like this. The enthusiasts, real serious artists are pushed aside by mediocore videogame fanart and popculture based fanart. Some tend to rise above others though. Sad to see so many people waste $6.99 on a wonderful app like this, but what am I to say? I'm not a pro-artist myself and neither does my work sutify that purpose yet. I'm here for fun, I guess.

Also to add to my block o' text, this can be applied to just about any public media site (e.g. Deviantart, Youtube, and a similar app Flipnote Hatena) The original work is displaced while fanart is the commotity. It just never ends does it? (Please excuse my rant, I'm just pointing out the obvious in popularity and schtuff. Some words didn't come out as I wanted to but sc.rew it, I'm tired. Lol, these comments are funny. This first thing you should know about design is that you have to know your audience. What sort of people would own a 3DS? Kids who love their pokemanz of course. So either you can cave into their desires to be popular or do your own thing and get a niche fan base.

I've never "liked" a tracing, it's just annoying, no matter how well detailed it is it's still not their work nor there idea. At times I just can't stand it.

I don't really mind traced artwork, i trace, but usually only roughly or my own photos.
It's about having pictures in 3d, were it not for tracing there wou'd be a lot less good art. Besides, it's not dA or anything, it a place to share 3d artwork.
It's a lot better when peop'e admit they're tracing.

i believe its ok to trace, but not if you are just making another picture like the origional. i think tracers should at least add some of their own style into the picture: extra shadows, different face, 3d effects, background, other objects. also i dont think people should be freely giving away their friend codes to anyone uunless they ask. there are bad people out there

I trace because I lack actual talent. But I think tracing a 2D image and making it 3D is alright so long as you admit it's not originally yours(check my gallery if you don't get it). Only in 3D though. Tracing a 2D image and not making it 3D is pointless.

Tracing is cheating! I lack originality, so I get all of my ideas from games, though none of my paintings are traced.
One of my images got quite a few likes, and there's a few on the top which aren't traced. So at least it's not 100% traces on top XD

Welp, I think its just because I hadn't drawn much and I only have one painting I actually took time on. But for everyone else, its true. I only see some original art in the tops, and most tends to be realistic animals. I love the realistic animals, but it needs more originality among the tops that is much more varied than animals.

As long as they admit it's traced, I don't care. I don't trace, my art sucks, so I enjoy seeing nice pics on here, traced or not. And what's with all the bewb haters? Do you know anything about classic art? It's like fifty percent landscapes and fifty percent naked women. I don't have a problem appreciating either one. I only draw original work. Even better than not tracing is pure originality. My characters are all my own. Now, wouldn't you say someone that draws original work is more artistic than even the best artist that only draws someone else's characters?

Tracing doesn't bother me. It's what you do with it afterwards. I like things based on their use of the 3d planes. Now what does bug me are those who post their friend code asking people to add them. I agree, most annoying. It's the same reason facebook annoys me. But I can understand, they're just young kids. Whether traced or not, there are some gorheous pieces on here and I look forward to new ones every week.

The fact that people even bother posting their friend code on this piece alone is laughable. Yes, I have mine in my gallery, but it's more to find people for art callabration. I NEVER trace, so it ticks me off when people do it then try to pass it off as their own.

Not completely true, there's a lot of traces getting in the top, but there's also many which aren't. I've had two in the top this week and neither were traced. Ironically, the ones that took me the least time to do though XD.

We know women with no clothes is in art, but really... Do you guys really think kids should be seeing this on Colors 3D?? That kind of art really doesn't belong here. Anyway, most people who happen to come across gross pictures are very sensitive to it. Others who are not bothered by the art are often offended or bothered by the filthy comments. I do not want to start a fight about it or be enemies with anybody. It's just what I think...

I have been a Flipnote Hatena user. It was fun to animate flipnotes, but when I posted my flipnotes they got false reported. And I was like "What the heck??"

I think most of the people with low likes are nooot that active around here and just upload pics, leave and hope that their pic is the blockbuster. Just be active in the community, give advice ans don´t just post "VISIT MAH GALLERY!!!11one!!!1" and you´re fine. Most people will check you if you show some interest and respect. Ya I know, SHUT THE F*CK UP, MORRI! XD But I just had to post this, because that´s what I experienced so far. =)

I didn't think of the irritating "chek ot my galeri" spammers at the time of drawing this since my mind was more focused on the tracing and pointless friend code request art. And for those of you trying out the friend code in this pic, of course it doesn't work. It's obviously FAKE.

I'm 13 and never traced a line, and even if I ever do it would only be a pic that a drew on paper first. So any person thats like "Oh I'm young and suck at drawing so it must be ok that I trace." No it's not just because you're not very good dosn't mean it's ok. Drawing for real will help you get better and better untill who knows, you might become one of the best drawers out there. The point is you need to PRACTICE PRACATICE PRACATICE instead of tracing. Sorry for the long comment ^^'

wow, I've actually noticed the copious amounts of traced drawings here. It really irks me, I mean it just means the person is really lazy or just a noob. What i dislike more is horrendous recoloring, like tracing a character and recolor in different colors later to claim it as your own creation? where's the creativity or originality? >_>...

Do you know how hard it is when the original creator sees other people traced there work and no credit . it one thing to copy and draw it but to trace! really. I posted a funny, original version of Pikachu and it only got 5 likes before getting pushed off by a bunch of bad art and friendcodes...sure, I have a friendcode painting but at least I took some time to make it original art other than just throw mine out there and hope for some friends.

When I draw with pencil and paper, I can come up with very neat drawings. When I try to draw on an electronic device, it's a bit more difficult. I will admit the fact that I do trace a majority of the time. But half of the drawings I have are very basic and could be done with just a visual reference, no prob. However, I am TRYING to learn how to free-hand images currently.

Now, if you take your very own photograph of like a landscape or city on the 3DS Camera, as a visual reference, I'd say that's fine. The photo was taken by you, the tracing was done by you, so it was all made by you.

This is so true. I'm lucky to get a few bronze stars on all my hard work, and its original and non-traced too. Yet all these tracers get 100 times more stars then me. I know that the gliscor pic on top ranked is traced. i've seen the picture on google before.
