Don´t worry, Failninja, there is nothing wrong at all with turning RL-situations into jokes.
This is more just of a meta-example of a typical comic.
It gets problemaric only if people assume that putting these features into a comic makes it automatically funny even if the jokes themselves are not.
You´d be suprised how often I´ve seen this happening :P
