i have a theory of the alicorn amulet:

long ago, a being of anti-matter, named simply darkness, was tired of his simple life surrounded by light and happy music. he decided to create a item with a crumb of his DNA of evil, pure nevarium (Nx;250), and finally, the molding hands of a h.ellfire welder. thus creating the Alicorn Amulet, with a molding of darkness' pure pony form, thus giving it to a merchant, for safe keeping, 16 million years later, was sold to you-know-who. *points to upper screen*
