So she bestowed upon him the sacred Celestial Spark. This mysterious force allows non-unicorn ponies to use magic on a smaller scale than most, but it's power increases under certain conditions. However, Nathan rarely uses this ability, mainly out of the fear that other ponies will consider him an outcast. There is also rumored to be the Lunar Spark, the Celestial Spark's counterpart.
