She got so mad when she found out she had 14 pupils in total.
While it's normal for her race to have an unusual amount of pupils, people with 6 or more in both eyes get shamed and considered outcasts of society.
The worst part is that they get to live a normal childhood before their amount shows itself.

I like your character, I think she looks great! And the background really matches her eyes too. No idea what a glowan is, but this is still great artwork! ; )

@animalma - Glowans are this weird humanoid alien species I made, based on the Homestuck universe. (multiverse?)
@Kole - Yes, they all have tails! There are no rules when it comes to picking colors, except that you pick two of them, and one color is for the hair, iris, tail (which is covered with hair/fur), and the random lines in their symbol (this one doesn't have one because she's a mutant), and the other color is for their blood, eyewhites, circles in symbol and the glowy parts.
Their social order is dictated by amount of pupils, rather than blood. One can't have more than ten pupils in total (five in each eye is the most one can have without getting shunned). The circles in their symbols corresponds to the amount of pupils they've got in an eye. There is more info about this on my tumblr. (same name, and there's a link to an infopost in the sidebar)
