NYC Subway by ZeldaAutumn

The City Hall station was opened in ninteen o four and closed in nineteen fortyfive. It was closed to the public for years, then opened to photographers and finally passengers can see it if they stay on the number six as it makes it's loop. A very beautiful subway. #Subway #Newyork #Abandoned

I'm like 200 miles away from any subway, in my good ol' mountain town. If I were to go to one I'd want it to be as beautiful as this :o)

Thanks all. I search out lost places, some very creepy, some unbelievably old and some very beautiful, such as this treasure. Please seek out info on this place if you live in NYC. There are so many lost places right in your city.

Thank-you everyone.
@Ceebz, they closed it due to new regulations about space between track and where passengers get on and off and probably a few other safety issues. You can now take a ride to see it but you cannot get off. Shame , some of the most beautiful places are forgotten and left to rot, thankfully I am finding that many are being turned into museums or being used in some way, yet thousands remain abandoned.

@libgal, no I never had a lesson in my life. I did get Art Academy a few months ago, not finished the lessons.:), I push myself on here, and I am doing things I never did before as regards art. There are so many incredible artists, check out Munin, Gaz bell, SENCO, and JoshHook, they and others inspire me very much. Thank-you.

I love how you captured the beauty of this abandoned subway station. Are you drawn to abandoned places? I noticed you painted a few abandoned places, and I myself can see the beauty in them. It's sad that so many places are abanonded. The New York State Pavillion, one of my favorite structures, was used during the ninteen sixty-four/sixty-world's fair, then was used as a skating rink in the seventies. Now it just sits there, rusting away. :(
