I don't know how else to reply to your question, so I'm going to do it here. First things first, good work! I like this.
Okay, you asked how I get hair to look like that, and I suggest watching the playback and you can see how I do it. Start with a dark background and add detail while you lighten the color gradually. That's the best way I know how to explain it. Wish I could show you. Hope I helped :)
