you culd also hatch 8000 pokemon with one chance of a shiny and yes those are the real statistics

there are really simple ways to get shinies, using those methods I get around 1 to 3 shinies a day, NO HACKING! just look up how to fish chain and how to pokeradar chain pokemon.
