Yes, I did get the demo, in fact. Though apparently you only get 10 tries in the demo for the European version. THAT'S RACIST, GAMEFREAK.

I have Tri for the Wii too and still didnt hesitate to get the *DS version.
Atm, Im up to repelling the ceadeus (was so close yesterday..) But it goes way futher than Tris storyline. It also offers way more monsters (like, twenty something more) twelve weapon sets, some armour has changed and added (Im currently a longsword weilding Cowboy. I even noticed an 'army man' looking armour in my armour crafting menu). Some point during the storyline you meet a second shakalaka so then you can have two running around with you. Ive not figured out how yet, but theres an option to choose wether its night or day when you go freehunting. Ive noticed on some things they mention other places too. Although theres no wifi (no idea why), you can still go to the tavern place (its not loclac anymore =s) and do missions. Including event ones to get awesome weapons. You get them via DLC. There are some great other ways for multiplayer and I highly sugggest looking up about them.

Even with the Wii version, I still greatly recommend getting the *DS version, or if you have a WiiU, that one ( I aim to get a WiiU and the WiiU version too).

I will saythis though, if you get the *DS version, I really do recommend getting a circle pad pro. Its possible to play without it, but if you've played the demo (avalable free on e-shop), you'll know it makes the game (particularly the swimming) very awkward. You should be able to find them cheap somewhere. I bought mine in a shop for five pounds. They were origionaly twenty pounds here so that should give you an idea of how much the price has dropped.
The CCP also works for kid icarus, resident evil revelations and Kingdom Hearts (hmm.. I still need that..)
Look into MH*U in online reviews and stuff if you're still unsure. Its a fantastic improvement on the Wii version & better still, its portable!

Its a shame they dont do Monster Hunter events for monster hunters to meet up and stuff. Could have contests and allsorts.
