i live in hawaii so this is something i lerned in school.years ago a ditch was dug from the koolau mountain range springs to the dry leeward side of the island to the crops.the spring also gives water to streams on the wet windward side, but when the ditch was built the streams lowerd by 70 percent!this endangered the stream life and farmers who used ancient hawaain farming ways. this is still happening now! i root for the windward group with the old hawaiin farmers.state your opinion!
