Awesome painting and great use of 3d. Than you for your comments on my painting. For the water, blend different colors and dot areas of movement with white.

I think the style is just fine. It has been said already, but yet, don't be afraid of really dark shades. A trick/tip, when viewing anything squint, that will bring out the really darkest, which should go in first, and it will bring out the very lightest areas as well which go last, usually, but as in all things, go about it how you feel best.
