Community Guidelines

At Collecting Smiles we strive to make colorslive.com a safe and fun place for artists of every style, skill level, and background. We respect our community, and we expect our community to be respectful to each other. To ensure this, we have a number of measures in place to filter out content that might be considered abusive or inappropriate.

NSFW content

The colorslive.com community is all about expressing creativity and sharing your artwork with a wide range of people from all around the world, however some content may not be appropriate or desirable for everyone. The NSFW feature intends to provide a wider range of creative freedom while also maintaining a safe environment.

Uploading a painting as NSFW means that it will be hidden from children, non-logged-in visitors and users with no desire to see such paintings. Logged-in users who have opted in to see NSFW paintings in their account settings will be still able to see it.

Since paintings are the only type of content that can be marked as NSFW, other content such as comments or profile descriptions should be appropriate for everyone to view.

Please mark your painting as NSFW if it contains any of the following:

Artistic nudity or suggestive themes

We consider suggestive themes to include suggestive poses, innuendo, as well as content drawn with the intention of appealing to a fetish.

Strong language

This covers language that might be considered vulgar or taboo, such as cursing and swearing. However, please be aware that we have a zero-tolerance approach towards slurs and other kinds of hate speech.

Controversial topics

We welcome artists from a wide range of backgrounds and opinions, however we recognise that
certain topics (such as politics, for example) may spark arguments or make others feel uncomfortable. As such, please mark your painting as NSFW if it contains references to these.

References to controlled substances

References to alcohol or tobacco are permitted without having to be marked as NSFW, however references to cannabis and other controlled substances are considered to be NSFW.

Violent or shocking content

Small amounts of blood, as well as light scratches, healed scars, bruises and stitches are acceptable without having to be marked. Large quantities of blood, heavy wounds and depictions of gore or violence need to be marked as NSFW.

Prohibited activity

The following content and behaviour is not permitted under any circumstances, even if it’s marked as NSFW:

Harassment and cyberbullying

This involves targeted behaviour that causes distress for other users, such as stalking, bullying, intimidation, humiliation, or sexual harassment.

Hate speech

We define hate speech as content that insults or degrades any persons on the basis of protected attributes, such as age, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, social class, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, disability, disease, or immigration status. This includes the use of stereotypes, slurs and other derogatory terms, as well as language or imagery used with the intention of promoting hateful ideologies.

Sexually explicit content

Pornographic content, depictions of sex organs or sex fluids, or sexualised portrayals of minors are not permitted under any circumstances.

References to suicide and self-harm

Content that references suicide, suicidal tendencies, self-inflicted wounds and self-destructive behaviour can be very harmful for people struggling with thoughts of self-harm or suicide. We would like to encourage anyone struggling with these thoughts to immediately contact a suicide prevention hotline.

Graphic imagery

Content that is gratuitously graphic, sadistic, or otherwise shocking is not permitted. This covers depictions of realistic dismemberment, mutilation, and other types of body horror, in addition to portrayals of animal or child abuse.

Breaches of privacy

Don’t reveal anyone’s private information without their consent, including their full name, age, address, email or other personally identifiable details. If someone blocks you, don't attempt to circumvent the block feature or otherwise try to communicate with them.

Impersonation

You don’t have to use your real name on colorslive.com, but impersonating any individual, company, or organisation that you are not permitted to represent in a misleading or defamatory manner is not allowed.

Copyright infringement

Only upload content that you have the right to submit. Content that infringes on trademarks or copyrights, or plagiarises another artist’s work, will be removed if we receive a takedown request from the owner of the original work.

Service abuse

Service abuse refers to behaviour that may negatively impact other users’ experience with colorslive.com, or cause damage to users’ devices or service infrastructure. This includes ban evasion, using exploits, malicious scripts, or automated activity. Scraping or crawling content without prior permission from Collecting Smiles AB is also not permitted.

How Content Gets Moderated

Our moderators manually review paintings and comments that are reported by users via the report feature. If we decide that the reported content is marked incorrectly or breaks our rules, we will either flag it as NSFW or remove it. We may also moderate inappropriate usernames and profile descriptions by manually changing them.

When our moderators review a painting, in addition to the final image, they will also review the painting's title, description, playback and individual layers. As such, please note that censoring NSFW or prohibited content by hiding it underneath a layer (or otherwise obscuring it) does not prevent it from being moderated, since that content would still appear in the painting's playback and be visible in normal play.

Reporting Abuse

If you encounter content that violates our guidelines or a painting that should be marked as NSFW, please report it using the “Report” button or by getting in touch with us through one of the support contacts listed on www.colorslive.com/contact. Collecting Smiles staff will normally review all reported content within 48 hours. If enough people report a single painting, it will also automatically disappear from public view until Collecting Smiles has reviewed it.

Reporting Copyright Infringement

It is our policy to respond to valid DMCA takedown notices of alleged copyright infringement. If you believe that a piece of colorslive.com content infringes on your copyright, please refer to our Terms of Use at www.colorslive.com/terms for information on submitting a takedown notice.

User Blocking

Alongside using the report feature where necessary, if another user is leaving unwanted comments on your paintings we encourage you to be proactive and use the block feature to prevent them doing so.

Suspensions and Content Removal

Collecting Smiles reserves the right to remove any content if deemed inappropriate. We may also suspend your account or device(s) from being able to interact with the community for any duration of time where necessary. If an account is permanently suspended, any content associated with it may also be permanently deleted. Suspended devices will not be able to log into any new or existing colorslive.com accounts for the duration of the suspension.

We endeavour to reach fair outcomes, although there is always a chance that we will make mistakes. If you believe that we have acted unfairly, please submit an appeal to the support contact listed on www.colorslive.com/contact.
