Ariana Running through this hot barren landscape for about an hour can sure the hell put a damper in your energy ( especially when you have hardly any water), speaking of my lungs are screaming for it, I can’t drink it, not now anyway. Run faster, faster, that’s what I tell myself over, and over, until I can’t stand the sound of my own voice. I have to run fast, so the Grieve will not come close, I have to run in the first place to find survivors. It’s been 2 years, there won’t be any survivors. I continue my running like I’ve done for the past year, but stop short when I see a flash of hair run past me and the sound of feet scuffing on dirt, “ Briara?” I turn around to if that was one of the immunes that run in our group, only to see a totally different sight, a girl, with light skin, medium brown hair that fades to a light brown, light brown eyes, wearing a black shirt, shorts, and a garter belt with a gun attached,light army green ankle boots with the laces untied. Neither of us move we stand there staring at each other, a mix of shock and disbelief on her face, I can only imagine what emotions show on my face. Remembering back to protocol, I speak up, “ are you infected?” my voice hoarse from running all morning, she shakes her head no and cocks her head sideways “ do you know those people?…… I think there calling to you” I turn to look behind me. There's no one there. The impact of her boot hitting my back knocks the breath out of my and I fall onto my stomach. Quickly I roll onto my back, just in time to see her flip out her gun and take aim “ crap!” I mumble under my breath and roll again.The bullet hits inches from where I’m lying now. I do a quick move and jump up. She attempts to kick again, I grab her foot and flip her, she lands on her back. I hear voices and feet scuffling from behind me, but I don’t look back, my eyes locked on her anger filled eye
